A+ Sports Academy Partners with Westside School District

 

A+ Sports Academy has a college bound boys club at Cottonwood Elementary where approximately 35+ boys participate in the program.

The boys meet once a week for one hour where they discuss the importance of academics, college preparation, life skills, health and fitness.  Sport activities are integrated within the program to ensure student retention and engagement.

They are four levels of the program that the students strive to obtain over the course of the school year.

 

The levels are:

1. Character

2. Positivity

3. Determination

4. Leadership

 

 

T-shirts are provided as the students satisfy the required outcomes at each level.   A+ Sports Academy spoke on the program at the Westside School District Board Meeting held on October 7, 2014.  It was well received by the Board Members.  They were very supportive and appreciative of the program and acknowledge the importance of community programs collaborating with public education.
